The Vanity Planet Face Steamer is a special steaming device you can use on your face to open up your pores and help loosen any buildup of dirt for a deeper cleanse. Since it’s been on our radar for a while now, we’ve decided to give it a try and see if it’s worth the rave.

What Does Steaming Do To Your Face?

Steaming your face is a beauty regimen that doesn’t involve shelling that much cash or applying a ton of beauty products. It opens clogged pores while loosening unwanted buildup (dirt, oils, makeup) for a deeper cleanse.  It releases trapped sebum, a naturally occurring oil is produced by your sebaceous glands to lubricate your skin and hair. When sebum gets trapped beneath your skin’s surface, it creates a breeding ground for bacteria and causes acne and blackheads.

The steam softens the blackheads to make them easier to remove by opening up the pores. The combination of warm steam and an increase in perspiration dilates your blood vessels and increases circulation. The increased blood flow experienced during a steam facial promotes collagen and elastin production, which results in smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin.

Steaming also helps decongest and detoxify the skin and fight bacteria and inflammation. Similarly, it can help relieve sinus pains and headaches, and it hydrates the skin by helping increase oil production to moisturize the face. At the same time, it can increase the effectiveness of your skincare products by making the skin more permeable to better absorb cosmetic products.

Overall, the after-feel of steaming leaves your face comfortable and relaxed.

What Is The Aira Ionic Face Steamer?

The stress of daily life can take a toll on your skin, and nothing feels better than having a relaxing spa treatment. But with the Aira Ionic Face Steamer, you can enjoy that same professional spa feels right in the comfort of your home.

Vanity Planet’s Aira Ionic Face Steamer is a portable steaming device that’s designed to give you a therapeutic sauna experience. Compared to most facial steamers, Aira uses ionic steam, which is made of nano-sized water molecules to hydrate and soften the skin’s surface, promote better blood circulation, detoxify the pores of impurities, and remove dead skin cells.

Being smaller in size, the ionic steam particles are able to penetrate the layers of the skin to give a more thorough cleansing experience. That way, with the pores cleared of impurities, the skin will be more receptive to skincare products and treatments, making their effects even more potent, visible, and beneficial. The result would be clearer, more radiant skin,

How To Use

When using the Aira steamer, it’s recommended to use only purified or distilled water, since ordinary tap water could cause limescale to build up and shorten the device’s effectiveness.

Also, make sure to wash your face before using Aira, as it will make the steaming session more effective.

Putting the water

  1. Remove the tank and unscrew the plug.
  2. Then, slowly and carefully pour the distilled water into the tank until it reaches the “Min.” level but no higher than the“Full” mark.
  3. Once filled, close the water tank and fasten the plug.
  4. Finally, insert the water tank back into Aira until it clicks into place.

Using Aira

  1. Plug in the AC adapter and press the Power Button—this will light the blue indicator light and begin to heat the water inside.
  2. Wait for about 2-3 minutes. The nano-sized steam particles will slowly start to rise a minute into the boil.
  3. Once the steam is coming out, close your eyes and position your face towards the steam so that it covers your face entirely. Focus on areas you want to detox like the cheeks, nose, or forehead.

Adding essential oils

This is totally optional, but you can add your favorite essential oils if you want to make the steaming session more relaxing.

  1. Soak the Essential Oil Basket’s foam portion with your favorite essential oil
  2. Place the basket on the device’s nozzle before activating the power button.

The Aira facial steamer should be used for only 15 minutes a day, two-to-three times a week. It’s best to use your favorite facial creams or face mask after the steaming session since their effects will be better received by the skin.

Vanity Planet Face Steamer – What Customers Have To Say

Here are some reviews from verified customers regarding their experience with the Aira Ionic Face Steamer:

When I purchased this product, I wasn’t entirely aware of what I was going to expect. I have had the steam on my face when I was getting a facial done, and sure it was nice but it wasn’t my favorite part, but nonetheless nice. Fast forward to this purchase, and my nonexistent facials…This was amazing! The steam is just what my face has been missing this winter. It helped in aiding in much-needed extractions and really let my products absorb in like they needed to leaving my skin feeling hydrated and looking healthy. ” – Kristan

I love how tiny and cute this product is! It is perfect even for my tiny bathroom countertop and looks fancy enough to keep out. I love that there isn’t much maintenance involved and it is easy to use as well, and it puts out quite a lot of steam for the tiny tank that it has. Definitely recommend this in the cooler months not just for your skin.” – Gabriella K

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to steam my face daily?

It is advised to steam 1-2 times per week or 2-3 times per week instead of every day. However, it does depend on your skin and the length of treatment.

Can I use it on my hair?

Yes, the steamer can also be used on the hair. The heat aids in hydrating dry hair, and the hot moisture also facilitates easier blood flow to circulate, softens the hair, and promotes hair growth in the process.

Should you exfoliate before or after steaming your face?

It is best to steam before exfoliating your skin to allow pores to be cleansed and remain open for deeper extraction of debris and bacteria. Steam to soften sebum and unclog pores, then proceed with chemical or mechanical exfoliation.

What is the Aira facial steamer made of? Is the plastic handle BPA-free?

The Aira Ionic Facial steamer’s base is made of metal, and the rest is made of BPA-free plastic.

Can I use any kind of water for the steamer?

It’s best to use purified or distilled water for this facial steamer since tap water can cause limescale buildup in the device and eventually shorten its lifespan.

How do I clean the Aira steamer?

To clean your Aira facial steamer, empty and clean the water tank after every use and make sure every remaining grease or residue gets cleared.
To clean the nozzle and base of the device, use a soft damp cloth and then wipe them dry.
