Morphe is one of the most popular makeup brands for two reasons. One – they create high-quality makeup and beauty products for a very affordable price. Two – many different beauty gurus have partnered with them to bring their products to light around the world. Some popular celebrities that have worked with Morphe are James Charles, Jaclyn Hill, Jeffree Star, Maddie Ziegler, Charli Damelio, Dixie Damelio, and more!
Although Morphe is known for its stellar makeup brushes and pigmented eyeshadows, they create all kinds of makeup for the entire face. One of their most popular products, excluding brushes and eye shadows, is the lipsticks. They come in multiple finishes, but we’ll be focusing on the matte lipsticks.
The Morphe Matte Lipsticks come in 10 shades that are bound to match any skin tone and/or undertone. Overall, this lipstick is pretty impressive for its relatively affordable price. If you are on a budget but looking for something higher in quality, these lipsticks are going to be your best friend! Let’s get into the review.
The Morphe Matte Lipsticks are available in 10 different shades ranging from a light nude to a deep black. No matter what your skin tone and undertone is, you probably will be able to find a shade that compliments you wonderfully. I got the shade called “Lust” which is a crushed berry color. The shade closely matched the description on the website which I appreciated. I knew exactly what I was getting, and I found that it looked great with my complexion.
Now let’s move onto the packaging. The packaging is sleek and modern. The outside is completely black in color with the Morphe “M” symbol engraved on the top of the cap. The cap is secured tightly, so it is not likely to fall off or break. This makes it great for traveling or just keeping in your purse!
As far as the formula goes, these lipsticks are very creamy despite them having a matte finish. They glide onto the lips smoothly for an easy application. After a few minutes, it dries down to a matte finish, but it doesn’t dry out the lips. Just to be safe, we still recommend applying a lip balm before applying any matte lip product. This ensures that the lips stay hydrated and moisturized throughout the day.
Another great thing about this lipstick is the pigmentation. These lipsticks are highly pigmented which is probably the number one factor I look for in a good lipstick. With a single swipe, you get all the pigmentation you need!
Morphe is a cruelty-free makeup brand meaning that they don’t test any of their products on animals. This also means they do not sell their products in countries where animal testing is required by law. Also, while some of their products are not vegan, their matte lipsticks are vegan! This means that the formula does not have any ingredients derived from animals in it.
I also want to talk about the price. If you are on a budget but want to get some high-end makeup, Morphe is the way to go! They have great quality products for an extremely affordable price. These matte lipsticks are in the drugstore price range, but in my opinion, the quality is just like high-end brands!
One of the downsides of this product is the longevity. I did find myself needing to reapply this product multiple times throughout the day.
Another thing to note about this lipstick is that it is not transfer-proof. This means that it might transfer to things like your coffee cup, straws, or even your teeth! This is a major con for me, but it doesn’t make me hate the product altogether.
Overall, I think that the Morphe Matte Lipsticks are great. They have amazing shades, the formula is spectacular, and they just look great on the lips. For the price, I would definitely repurchase this again in another shade!

Personally, I tried on the shade “Lust” which is a crushed berry color. I found that it looked great with my skin tone which is light with neutral undertones. I think this shade would look great on all skin tones with cool or neutral undertones. If you have more warm undertones, I would recommend going with a shade like “Boo” or “Fling.”
You can buy Morphe’s products both in stores and online. But we recommend shopping for Morphe products online. This is because all of their products are more readily available and accessible online.
As far as in stores goes, I would recommend going to
Here are the best and most popular places where you can buy the Morphe Matte Lipsticks:
Overall, the Morphe Matte Lipsticks are a great value. They have a formula similar to high-end brands, but the price is the same as you would find at the drugstore. These lipsticks come in 10 different shades and the packaging is gorgeous. The formula and pigmentation are incredible. Morphe is cruelty-free and mostly vegan. The only reason downside to this product is the longevity. I would recommend these lipsticks for anyone on a budget looking for high-quality lipsticks!
Since I tried the shade “Lust” which is a crushed berry color, you may be wondering if that shade would also compliment your skin tone and undertone. No matter your skin tone, you can definitely pull off a berry shade. However, I want to focus on the undertone. Berry shades typically look best on cool undertones. But, as someone with neutral undertones, I found that it also looked good with my complexion. For someone with warm undertones, you may find that it doesn’t look as good as shades with warmer tones. So in short, berry lipsticks look best for people with cool or neutral undertones.
Yes! You can absolutely layer the Morphe Matte Lipsticks with other lip products. They aren’t too heavy on the lips, so it should be fine. However, do make sure you only apply a light layer of each product so you don’t get that heavy and uncomfortable feeling. For layering, I would recommend applying a lip liner first, then the lipstick, and lastly a layer of sheer lipgloss! This look would be great for a casual look or a full glam look depending on what your style is!
For lipsticks that aren’t so long-lasting, there are a few things you can do to make them last longer. The number one tip I can give you is to use a lip primer. If you don’t have a lip primer, even a super light layer of foundation can work! After applying your lipstick, blot off the excess. Also, even a very light layer of translucent powder can work excellently! All of these things combined will most likely increase the longevity of the lipstick.
